Comprehensive rehabilitation services
Our multidisciplinary team of professionals provides four pillars of support, each addressing a different dimension of recovery.
Medical Assistance
"The soul is the same in all living creatures, although the body of each is different." Hippocrates
We are a non-profit organization, which makes us different from other medical institutions. Our patients receive special care and, with the financial support of our donors, we are able to provide a broader spectrum of investigations and consultations.
We monitor the annual rates of acute and chronic diseases, as well as the differentiation by age in terms of diseases caused by torture or other forms of violence. Medicines are provided free of charge, offering great support to our patients given the socio-economic situation in the country.
Our beneficiaries don't have to wait for hours hoping to get a medical consultation. They can call us to get an appointment before coming to the centre. We respect our patients and treat them with the attention and care they deserve.
Psychological Assistance
Confronted with traumatic events, most people no longer believe the world is a safe place. Our goal is to help these people rediscover their inner balance. The assistance is based on a holistic approach, treating the person as a whole.
The rehabilitation programs have three fundamental objectives: valorization of internal resources, awareness of personal needs and boundaries, and identification of modalities to overcome stressful situations.
Our methods include:
- ✓ Individual and family counseling
- ✓ Psycho-emotional support and crisis intervention
- ✓ Individual, family, and group psychotherapy
- ✓ Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- ✓ Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR)
- ✓ Narrative therapy and gradual exposure
- ✓ Mindfulness and body relaxation techniques
If necessary, people can benefit from the combination of psychotherapeutic treatment and physical rehabilitation activities: physiotherapy, massage, thermotherapy, and more.
Three steps of recovery
Training skills to manage emotions and tension through relaxation and breathing exercises
Guided coping with traumatic memories and integration of the traumatic experience
Learning to address traumatic events from a new perspective, creating a successful future
