“No One Left Behind” RCTV Memoria Launches a New Project to Support Victims of War and Violence in Moldova

In a world shaken by war, violence, and forced displacement, many individuals continue to face the devastating effects of trauma and loss. At RCTV Memoria, we remain deeply committed to helping the most vulnerable , refugees, survivors of torture, victims of war atrocities and gender-based violence , find hope and healing.

That’s why we’re proud to announce the launch of our new project, “No One Left Behind: New Steps for Better Services in Emergency Responses”, implemented with the generous support of Church World Services Moldova.

In this one-year initiative, we aim to reach 1,500 beneficiaries from all regions of Moldova , with a special focus on Ukrainian refugees, survivors of gender-based violence, and other vulnerable individuals including children, pregnant women, the elderly, and persons with chronic health conditions or disabilities.

The Project Goals:

  1. Rehabilitation and Trauma Healing: Providing specialized medical care, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), and legal and social services to help beneficiaries rebuild their lives with dignity.
  2. Strengthening Team Capacity: Enhancing our team’s skills, improving work conditions, and finalizing the renovation of our new office space to ensure safe, accessible, and welcoming services for all.

Within this project, we will:

  1. Deliver holistic rehabilitation services tailored to each individual’s needs.
  2. Use innovative tools like the Vulnerability Assessment Tool (VAT) and the Harvard Trauma Questionnaire (HTQ) to ensure the most traumatized individuals are prioritized.
  3. Facilitate individual and group psychoeducation sessions, art therapy, storytelling, and community activities.
  4. Support our team through capacity-building trainings, retreats, and a dedicated Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  5. Renovate and adapt our new center to be safe and inclusive for all beneficiaries.
  6. Share the voices of survivors by publishing at least 20 real-life stories from people affected by the war in Ukraine.

This project will support:

  1. Women and girls, including pregnant women and mothers with children;
  2. People suffering from trauma, PTSD, or chronic health conditions;
  3. Survivors of torture and GBV;
  4. Staff and volunteers in the humanitarian field;
  5. Members of marginalized communities (including LGBTQ+, Roma, and people with disabilities).

Why It Matters

We believe that trauma-informed, victim-centred care is key to resilience and recovery. We are not only providing services , we are empowering individuals to take back control over their lives. This project is also a vital investment in Moldova’s humanitarian response capacity, at a time when regional and local needs are growing rapidly.
